Tatadindin : Leading Player of the Kora
He is one of the leading players of the kora, which originated in The Gambia but then migrated to the ancient empire of Mali. Today Tatadindin performs regularly in Europe and teaches the art of the kora to students from around the world.
Tatadindin explains that the kora has a rhythm, lead and bass function, and that all these roles are performed simultaneously. Nonetheless he has a full band named ‘Salam’, with two balafon players, two percussion players, bass and lead guitar, a keyboard player, two drummers and two backing vocalists.
